Daesh exploits refugees
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 26 - 07 - 2016

IF there were ever greater proof needed of the sheer evil of Daesh (the so-called IS), it can be found in the attacks it has claimed in Germany. The most recent was the failure of a Syrian suicide bomber to get into a rock concert in Ansbach when he was the only fatality when he exploded his device, but a dozen people were injured.
Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel's principled humanitarian response to the tidal wave of misery created by the Assad regime was to welcome a million, largely Syrian refugees to her country. Understandably there were perfectly decent Germans who wondered if this generosity were wise. Could any country, even one as efficient as Germany, really deal at one go with so many people from different cultures and often with a zero knowledge of the language of their host country?
The outrageous New Year's Eve behavior at Cologne railway station of young thugs from among some of the refugees set many Germans, with their love of order, on edge. This was not the way that "civilized`' people conducted themselves. News of similar attacks on women at pop concerts and public places in Sweden have further kindled alarm. The Swedes, renowned for their tolerance and forbearance are becoming exasperated at the sex crimes and other lawlessness of some refugees.
Maybe it is time to ask who benefits from these depraved acts of physical and sexual violence which are endangering the reputation of the mass of ordinary Muslim refugees who are so grateful to the European countries that have given them shelter.
The answer is that the suicide attacks and the lawlessness of young thugs help Daesh. In their demented world view, they are at war with everyone who does not accept their perverse and blasphemous ideology. They hate the fact that European states like Germany have opened their arms to Syrians fleeing the bloodbath in their country. They rejoice in rising Islamophobia in countries such as Austria, Hungary and France. They want right-wing parties to flourish, to have their bully boys attacking refugees, burning down their hostels and stirring up racial bigotry.
The core values of tolerance, generosity and humanity are utterly alien to the fanatics of Daesh. Indeed they represent the greatest threat to their existence. Therefore when they are encountered, they have to be attacked with a viciousness and violence that knows no bounds.
There surely has to be a real possibility that many of the sex crimes that are being blamed on a minority of young refugees are being actively encouraged by Daesh agents who have secreted themselves among these desperate people. They have played upon the ignorance and stupidity of young men. Daesh treatment of captured Yazidi women in Iraq provides damning proof of their utter immorality.
The sort of backlash that Daesh is seeking the promote among Europeans could see a halt to further refugees and strict policing of those already arrived. This in turn would produce anger and suspicion among the refugees which could be exploited by the hidden Daesh terrorists in their midst. It matters not to Daesh that the long-term victims of their cynical maneuverings will be fellow Muslims. They are just pawns in Daesh's insane and demonic plans to spread death and chaos from which they fondly imagine they will benefit, by turning all Muslim refugees against those who have sought to help them.
