Second-seeded Dominika Cibulkova beat Urszula Radwanska 7-6 (3), 6-3 Thursday to advance to the Bank of the West Classic quarterfinals. Cibulkova, the 2013 champion, was ahead 5-2 in the first set before Radwanska rallied to tie it. Cibulkova, playing in her first match of the week after a first-round bye, cruised in the first-set tiebreaker and had no problems in the second set. She will face No. 5 seed Misaki Doi of Japan Friday. CoCo Vandeweghe, the No. 4 seed, rallied to beat Nicole Gibbs 2-6, 6-4, 6-2. Gibbs won the first three games of the match and cruised in the first set. But Vandeweghe got the first break of the second set for a 5-4 lead, won it on her serve and took the first three games of the third set. Vandeweghe will face Alison Riske, who dropped the first five games of her match but rallied to beat qualifier Ana Bogdan 3-6, 6-2, 6-4. CiCi Bellis defeated fellow American Sachia Vickery 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 and will face top-seeded Venus Williams on Friday night. Bellis, a 17-year-old wild card, broke Vickery in the seventh game of the third set, held serve in the eighth and broke again for the win. Basilashvili in Kitzbuehel final Nikoloz Basilashvili became the first tennis player from Georgia to reach an ATP final Friday after beating Dusan Lajovic of Serbia 6-3, 6-1 at the Generali Open. Basilashvili will take on either fourth-seeded Paolo Lorenzi of Italy or Gerald Melzer of Austria in Saturday's final of the clay-court event in the Austrian Alps. Playing in his maiden career semifinal, the 123rd-ranked Basilashvili took control of the match after he broke Lajovic while leading 4-3 in the opening set. Dominating with strong groundstrokes, Basilashvili broke his opponent's serve three more times and won nine of the last 10 games to close out the win. The 83rd-ranked Lajovic, who was seeded sixth, went 0-2 in semifinals this season. Lorenzi missed two match points in the second set before beating Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany 6-2, 6-7 (5), 7-5 in the quarterfinals Thursday. The 48th-ranked Italian failed to serve out the match at 5-4 in the second set, and missed two more match points on Struff's serve in the final set before converting his fifth chance. Gerald Melzer came out on top in his quarterfinal duel with older brother Jurgen with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 win.
