There are 680,200 unemployed men and women in the Kingdom, the General Authority for Statistics has announced. The authority said the number of the jobless represent about 5.6 percent of the total number of 12.2 million people in the working age, who consist both Saudis and expatriates. It said as many as 11.48 million people are employed, constituting about 94.4 percent of people in the working age. According to the authority, the population of Saudi Arabia is 30.77 million, consisting of 20.7 million Saudis and 10.7 million expatriates. It said the ratio of the unemployed men above 15 slightly dropped to reach 2.4 percent in 2015 while among women it was 21.4 percent. The authority said in the second half of 2015, the ratio dropped slightly to 2.7 percent among men and 21.8 among women. It said in 2012, the ratio of the unemployed men was 3.2 percent while it was 19.8 percent among women.
