If you are looking for an alternative destination in the Middle East this summer, then why not explore more than just city walks and malls?
Sure it's hot but for those of you who love the beach, Ras Al Khaimah is a popular choice. One of the perks of tourist destinations is the luxury of choice and if your budget allows a course in the Middle East, then this is a safe choice.
It offers the promising view of the Arabian Gulf, shores over looking a vast blue sea and desert palms. On a private peninsula, the all-pool villa resort is just 20 minutes away from its sister property Banyan Tree Al Wadi- the desert resort. The beach property is an island getaway located in the exclusive resort enclave of Al Jazirah Hamra.
The resort has 32 luxurious all-pool villas with views of the Arabian Gulf. A great venue for families, couples and urban jet setters. For those looking to get away, the resort offers exclusivity and a chance to unplug.
It is designed for those who prefer privacy in a traditional Arabian architecture as seen in Bedouin-style tent villas. Lounge in your cabana, sunbathe and cool off in your private infinity plunge pool.
Although all restaurants are grouped together, so if you're going for a longer period the novelty may wear off. But it's still better than room service, which is total chaos. The management needs to get a grip on the situation and facilitate a hassle-free experience. Even though the staff is extremely cooperative and good-natured, it's a struggle to get anything on time or in one-go. Either orders were delayed or there was massive confusion followed by various phone calls over simple matters. But apart from that, it's is a pretty chilled-out affair. If you get bored of the variety at the beach resort, you can head over to Banyan Tree Al Wadi for more. For the romantic couple that wants privacy, in-villa dining is an excellent option. You can have a chef cook up a special meal for two or you can give it a go yourself. In fact, you can learn your favourite recipes from the executive chef himself.
You can also celebrate your dream destination wedding on the resort's private beach. The resort is well-known for fashion shoots and other business events.
For the adrenaline junkies, plan your course for adventure with myriad water activities. Sail the high seas on a catamaran and other water activities like jet skiing and paragliding are all available upon request. You've got many other activities at at Banyan Tree Al Wadi.
Indulge in royal sports like falconry, horse and camel backriding, archery and even mountain biking.
Experience the golfing challenge at the 18-hole Al Hamra Golf Club.
You can also take a 4WD tour of Al Hajjar Mountains and its steep canyons or take a cruise aboard a traditional Abra boat.
Don't forget to unwind with their signature massages at any of six Spa Pavilions. They've got an expert team of therapists, who use aromatic oils and herbs during massage therapies.
