Wikeez met the unique Egyptian star Mariam Saleh in Beirut yesterday…such a special gifted artist who seems to care less about stardom and fame, in return of good music, meaningful lyrics and messages, and a unique whole package of street music that could leave a mark on the long run. Mariam's first pose on stage was in an Egyptian play called “Sabah El Kheir Al Ward Elli Mfattah Be Janayen Masr” at the age of 9. Later on as a teen ager she created her own music band “Jawaz Safar”, later called “Baraka”, reaching its final and finest stages today with the name “Mariam”. The young talented 26 year old star also was inspired during her life by many idols; Mohammad Darweesh, George Wassouf, and Camilia Jobran, and last but not least the famous Sheikh Emam. Destiny blew Mariam to meet the famous Lebanese musician Zeid Hamdan, known for his band “Zeid and the Wings”. Zeid and Mariam have accomplished two songs together so far, “Nikson Baba” and “Yowo”, which are grossing notable success in Cairo and Beirut for they are all about sarcasm, and spotting the lights on social and political down falls and mistakes occurring around us in our nations.
