Saudi Gazette The Vice President for Studies, Development, and Community Service at King Faisal University in Al-Ahsa, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shuaibi announced that the university will be offering full scholarships to cancer patients who wish to complete their education, with help from the Saudi Cancer Foundation in Al-Ahsa. They can apply to the university and enroll in any of its programs, and upon referral from the Saudi Cancer Foundation the entire tuition fees and other expenses will be waived off for them. The strong support of King Faisal University for the Saudi Cancer Foundation does not stop here. He said that the university would be pleased to host educational campaigns, conferences, and lectures organized by them and will also assist in public events. He wants to encourage students to volunteer in campaigns and workshops that aim to increase the public's awareness regarding cancer prevention. Al-Shuaibi further added that the Saudi Cancer Foundation is welcome to research the disease and use the laboratories at the university to conduct studies that will help improve their condition, prevention, and diagnosis in the Kingdom. The university will also be contributing toward the purchase of a mobile mammogram for the Saudi Cancer Foundation, which will be used to reach out to a larger number of women to provide breast cancer screening. Early detection of breast cancer greatly increases the success rate of treatment and the chances of survival of the patient. There is also a possibility that the Saudi Cancer Foundation will be offered financial aid to build a Cancer Center in Al-Ahsa to take care of cancer patients. __
