Asir Red Crescent spokesman Ahmad Asiri said paramedics responded to 21 different reports of different accidents, which resulted in the death of seven people and injuries of 28 others. The municipality ran an inspection campaign in various areas in Umluj governorate and the campaign is still ongoing. 6 new coronavirus cases detected RIYADH — The Ministry of Health reported six new patients who have contracted Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV). Five of the new patients contracted the disease in hospitals from other patients in Riyadh, while one case was reported in Najran. The ministry has warned people against making close contact with patients who have coronavirus or the source of the virus, which is believed to be the camels. People are urged to wear medical masks in vulnerable areas such as hospitals to protect themselves from contracting the virus. Expat injured in gas station fire QATIF — An Asian worker was injured in a fire at a gas station in downtown Safwa. Eastern Province Civil Defense spokesman Col. Mansour Al-Dowsary said the fire resulted in the injury of an Asian expatriate who suffered burns in his hands. The man was taken to hospital and the Civil Defense firemen managed to extinguish the fire. An investigation is under way to determine the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, a total of 110 heads of sheep and 30 palm trees were lost in a fire that started at a barn in Nadwan village in Bisha, the Civil Defense said. 4 killed, 27 hurt in highway accident RIYADH — Four people were killed and 27 others injured in a road accident on the Riyadh-Taif Road. Riyadh Red Crescent spokesman Abdullah Al-Muraibidh said the accident involved a truck and a bus carrying 51 Egyptian expatriates. It said four passengers died in the accident and 27 others sustained injuries, five of them critical. All victims were transported to a local hospital.
