JEDDAH/WASHINGTON — Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, will meet US President Barack Obama, US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter and a number of senior officials in the US Administration during his visit to the US. According to sources, the Deputy Crown Prince will be in Washington till June 16 and then will travel to New York for meetings with financial firms. The Deputy Crown Prince will discuss with President Obama and the US administration the crises in the region, especially the Syrian imbroglio. According to US sources, Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad will discuss regional issues, especially Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Libya and Gulf security. They will also deal with the Islamic military alliance that is headed by the Kingdom to combat terrorism, apart from the war against Daesh (so-called IS) and Al-Qaeda. In New York, Prince Muhammad will discuss with heads of US financial institutions Saudi Vision 2030 to diversify the sources of income. He is also expected to meet UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon. US economic circles attach great importance to the opportunities that will be created by Saudi Vision 2030. One of its executive programs (the National Transformation Program 2020) is expected to figure on the agenda of talks and meetings of the Deputy Crown Prince in Washington and New York with the aim of attracting American investments. Obama and Prince Muhammad met in the Oval Office in May 2015. Obama visited Riyadh in April when he attended a meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
