New Pullman ZamZam hotel opens in Madinah
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 06 - 06 - 2016

AccorHotels, the world's leading hotel operator, has announced the opening of Pullman ZamZam Madinah, a new five-star hotel in the Holy City of Madinah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The property, standing within 150 meters of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, the second-holiest mosque in Islam, combines two towers offering a total of 836 rooms and suites.
Olivier Granet, Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer of AccorHotels Middle East, said: "We are proud to introduce our Pullman brand to Madinah in time for the holy month of Ramadan and peak Umrah season, which will see millions of travelers enter Saudi Arabia to visit the two Holy Cities. The new Pullman ZamZam Madinah follows the 1,315-key Pullman ZamZam Makkah which remains the largest property operated by AccorHotels worldwide."
Guests at the new Pullman ZamZam Madinah can stay at Tower A or Tower B; the first offers 321 standard rooms and three different types of suites (70, 80 and 140 keys respectively), while the latter houses 200 standard rooms and 25 suites. International and oriental culinary delicacies are available at four unique venues within the property, including a classic all-day dining restaurant, a roof-top restaurant and a café lounge. The hotel also has a terrace and meeting room facilities.
Salah Oumoudden, Vice President of Operations at AccorHotels Saudi Arabia & Egypt, said: "We are pleased to open Pullman ZamZam in Madinah and complement our Pullman Zamzam offering in Makkah. The property provides guests with all the amenities and features associated with five-star
accommodation alongside direct access to Al Haram. AccorHotels will continue to implement its strong sales strategy in the new property, benefiting from its expertise and dedicated resources in the two Holy cities."
In addition to being strategically located in close proximity to the Holy Mosque, Pullman ZamZam Madinah is a 15-minute drive away from local landmarks such as Quba Mosque and Mount Uhud.
Granet added: "The consistently high demand registered in the Saudi market reveals a shortage of quality accommodation and a pressing need to develop the Kingdom's hotel infrastructure across all segments, from luxury to economy. In line with the ambitious growth strategy that AccorHotels has set out for Saudi Arabia, we remain committed to helping the Kingdom diversify its offerings and cater to the evolving needs of its visitors."
Pullman ZamZam Madinah is owned by Munshaat for Projects & Contracting Co., an esteemed real estate developer and subsidiary of Munshaat Real Estate Projects Company.
AccorHotels has a strong presence in Saudi Arabia, with a network of more than 15 properties in operation with over 4,500 opened rooms, and close to 35 properties under development bringing an additional 9,000 rooms. The Group's Saudi portfolio, encompassing 50 hotels in total, spans a wide range of world-class brands, from luxury Sofitel, upscale Pullman and Majlis Grand Mercure, to midscale Novotel and Mercure, and the economy ibis.
AccorHotels currently operates 75 hotels in the Middle East, encompassing close to 20,000 rooms across the luxury to economy segments. The Group's regional network also includes 55 hotels under development, bringing over 14,000 additional rooms to the Middle East.
