‘LuLu Mango Mania' draws overwhelming response

THE much awaited launch of the LuLu Mango Mania was inaugurated last Thursday at 5.30 p.m. by Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Minister of Finance, Bihar Government, India at LuLu Hypermarket Murabba in Riyadh and by Municipality Food Control Department at LuLu Hypermarket Dammam. This edition of the LuLu Mango Mania Saudi has an abundant range of mangoes, sourced from across the continents. The annual summer festival that celebrates the king of fruits is until May 24 at all the LuLu branches in the Kingdom.
The specially picked collection showcases a wide diversity of choice with vibrant hues of green, yellow and orange. As expected, the most popular varieties currently on display are the Alphonso, Badami, Rajapuri,Thothapuri, Sindhooram, Chakkaragound, Kalapady, Malgova, Mallika, Moovandan, Neelam, Betti, Karthakolomba, LongMango, Aadi, Bombay, Kalbaathoor,Samak,T aymour, Zill,Green Mango, Berberi, Gelind, Selasation and Tommy Mango. The selection has been sourced from Saudi Arabia, India, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Yemen,Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil and Sri Lanka in recent times, has also seen a marked rise in the cultivation of mangoes making the local produce a preferred choice among the Saudi market.
LuLu management said in a statement: "This Mango Mania is a much awaited event in our calendar and the response has always been overwhelming. Our quest to source out the most exotic varieties started well in advance and the outcome of this meticulous planning is reflected in the selection available during the period."
The local producers need to be complimented on their concerted effort and have contributed substantially to make this event more success," it added. "The king of fruits has always remained a favorite all over the world and the onset of its season surely calls for a reason to celebrate," a management representative said.
The fest offers various processed and packed mango products ranging from jams, pickles, pulps, chutneys, cakes to widespread variety of different products.
