IF a vision represents the formulation of certain objectives to be realized within a certain period of time, this period of time itself is often decided according to the objectives of the vision and their magnitude. An important factor crops up whether during the formulation of the objectives or while deciding the period of time during which these objectives should be realized. This important factor is represented in a single word that is: Ambition. Ambition is a characteristic of the people with great minds. This very fact has been stressed by the Saudi Vision 2030, which was approved by the Council of Ministers. The vision was presented by Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, second deputy premier, minister of defense and chairman of the Council for Economic Affairs and Development. Though a period of 15 years is not more than a glimpse in the history of people, but the huge objectives are a reflection of the "ambition" and the "strong will" which are the features of the vision's engineer Prince Muhammad Bin Salman. The vision, with its economic and social dimensions, is an integrated system, which is aimed at transforming the Kingdom to a new era with new concepts and contemporary look. The vision, will therefore, be a reality on the ground. According to the contents of the vision, reducing dependence on oil as a main source of income will make the Saudi investments a major source of revenues. The vision will settle down all the social challenges including the reduction of unemployment rates, boosting the participation of women in the labor market and increasing the per capita income. All this represents a historic transformation in the path of the Kingdom during a period of time, which seems brief but will be replete with challenges and hurdles. However, according to what Prince Muhammad Bin Salman has said: "Our ambition will swallow all these problems." My heartiest congratulations to our beloved country on a promising future under a wise leadership, which is broad-minded, strong willed and determined to realize a bright and prosperous future.
