Excellence Awards presented by CCCA

JEDDAH — A few members of the expatriate community banded together to form Community, Cultural and Cricket Excellence Association (CCCA) in order to serve the community. At the association's launching ceremony the office-bearers gave a brief introduction of their intentions while also felicitating many with awards here.
Distinguished guests and representatives of different forums from the subcontinent community attended the ceremony. The function started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an by Hafiz Abdullah. Aamir Abdul Ghaffar anchored the program in three parts, starting with Hyderabad Pain & Palliative Care awareness, launching of the brochure and Excellence Awards for the three categories community, cultural and cricket. A light entertainment program followed to round off the event.
Mirza Qudrath Nawaz Baig welcomed the guests and gave a brief introduction of the launching of "Hyderabad Pain and Palliative Care Trust" (HPPCT) in Telangana State in association with Al-Ryan International Polyclinics. The group is seeking to provide for Palliative Care by creating awareness here while working toward setting up a center in Telangana.
Qudrath Nawaz Baig said in his address said that Pain and Palliative care (P&P) is the care given to the old age patients to improve their quality of life. The goal of palliative care is to prevent or treat, as early as possible, the symptoms and side effects of the disease and its treatment, in addition to the related psychological, social, and spiritual problems, he said.
Anas Vadakkengara Kalikavu further explained in detail about the Palliative care and how it works. He said that there are more than 700 Palliative Care centers in the state of Kerala and now they are going to launch one in Hyderabad.
Baig and Kalikavu answered questions in a brief interactive session before the launching of the Pain and Palliative care brochure which contained the membership form and the concept of P & P Care service.
Mir Mahmood Ali, regional manager at Al Ryan International Polyclinic and chairman of CCCA, highlighted the concept of CCCA and said it was formed to encourage and motivate community members in the field of cricket, community welfare service and cultural activities. He said it was the brainchild of Aijaz Ahmed Khan, the president of India Forum.
He thanked Al-Ryan Polyclinic for sponsoring and supporting the cause of Pain and Palliative care trust in Hyderabad and for the excellence awards to the subcontinent community.
He added that a trust has been registered in Hyderabad and it has a bank account opened for donations. It is a Non Profitable and Non Political Trust and he appealed to the community for donations in order to achieve the aim of setting up this center. He said that this excellence awards function will be held on a yearly basis.
T.P. Shuhaib Thazathe, CEO Al Ryan International Polyclinics, the sponsor and the initiator of the Hyderabad P & P Trust appreciated the efforts of CCCA Chairman Mir Mehmood Ali and assured his cooperation for this noble cause.
L. Ramnarayan Iyer, Executive Editor Saudi Gazette, said "We speak a lot about helping the community, but do not translate it into reality. I hope the Hyderabadi community will emulate the Keralite community in setting up this center." He thanked Al-Ryan international Polyclinic for taking the initiative of educating and supporting the people who are the core that keeps this program alive.
Aijaz Ahmed Khan, president, India Forum and Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA), said this is his way of promoting the community. He further said that CCCA is not for only NRIs but it includes all the subcontinent community living in the Kingdom. He thanked the audience for supporting the Pain and Palliative care noble cause and the nominees who has accepted the first CCCA Excellence Award and certificates of excellence.
Five awards were given in the category of Cricket. Sameer Nidal Khan, Director, Hala Cricket Academy and My Care Clinic, for taking cricket to international repute by inviting current cricketers from India and Pakistan and providing perfect conditions for the cricket academy and sponsoring cricket events. This award was given by Aijaz Ahmed Khan.
Hamid Rana Afandi, vice president JCA, received award from Mir Mahmood Ali for his tireless work on and off the field and by contributing his efforts for the umpiring seminars and being involved in long term planning for JCA.
Haroon Abdullah Bin Mahfooz, executive secretary JCA, received the award from Ameen Ansari of Urdu News for his idea for the Saudi Premier League 2015 and Saudi Cup 2016.
Mohammed Faseesh, president Tellicherry Cricket Forum, received award from Mohammed Abdul Jabbar, president, Telangana NRI Forum Jeddah for his ability to organize soft ball events in Jeddah with excellent team work.
Mohammad Al Qureshi, who invented the soft ball cricket and made popular in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the initiator of first soft ball intercity matches since last four years, received his award from T.P. Shuhaib Thazathe.
Two cultural Awards were given to Ustad Nizam Ali Khan by Azhar Zai for making ghazals popular in the Kingdom and Wasim Mukadam received award from Mahboob Ali, member of IISJ Managing Committee, for his contribution in latest songs and his popularity among the young generation.
Two Awards were given in the category of community service to Abdul Rahman M. Baig by Mohammed Iqbal, CEO of JCA, for his relentless efforts to promote the Indian Community through journalism, socially and culturally and in the field of community welfare and Mirza Qudrath Nawaz Baig received his award from Ramnarayan Iyer.
Light Music program was performed by famous local singers including Mohammed Sikander Ali, Bassam Peeran, Syed Abdul Rafay, Amjad and Wasim Mukadam who enthralled the audience with their songs. The vote of thanks delivered by Wasim Mukadam.
