Fahid, the deputy of Minister of Education, the Private Education Commission and the Training and Electronic Education Company (Semanoor) signed a cooperation agreement to develop digital educational content via private schools all around the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Omar bin Ibrahim Al-Amer, president of the National Private Education Commission and Emad bin Fahad Aldoghaither, CEO of the Training and Electronic Education Company (Semanoor), signed the agreement during the International Education Exhibition and Forum that was held in Riyadh recently aiming to create a meeting ground for the commercial and educational sectors. The agreement sets cooperation between the parties in the field. Expertise and specialties in the technical side will be provided by Semanoor to the educational entities that are presented by the commission. The commission will in turn introduce the educational entities to Semanoor Educational Platform and encourage them to join the platform in order for them to contribute to the process of making the digital educational content in the Kingdom and turn to a content creator rather than just being a content consumer and to also contribute in achieving the goals of the national transformation program (the Kingdom vision 2030) that aims to expand the electronic applications and content in education. Both parties will also cooperate to create the national digital library on "Semanoor Educational Platform" and model it to achieve the defined goals of the commission and its services, to serve its members of educational entities as well as investors and to add services that will present a source of income for the commission. They will also cooperate to introduce some e-books and electronic lessons as well as training programs aimed to help students and teachers of private educational entities on the commission library. The cooperation with the commission aims to introduce the culture of digital educational content creation within the private education sector. With this alliance the Private Education Commission aims to improve the quality of the produced educational content by the private schools implementing the commission's vision and mission as a representative of the private education sector in the kingdom that includes over four thousand schools and eight hundred thousand students. Semanoors Educational Platform is considered to be an extension of the continues development of a system that was first lunched with the Saudi ministry of education in 1426 / 2006 then with the King Abdulaziz technology and science city in 1430 / 2010, in this iteration the platform is introduced with new technologies specially in smart book and electronic lessons. The new iteration is characterized by its high capabilities of engaging the schools through helping its teachers and students to create and share the digital educational content. — SG
