Kingdom Smart Government Meeting set
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 01 - 05 - 2016

KODAK Alaris is participating as a gold sponsor of the Kingdom Smart Government Meeting that will be held place on May 9-10, 2016 at Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh. Executives from Kodak Alaris will engage in discussions with CIOs and IT managers of government agencies participating at the event and provide insights into how digitization of information is the first step towards digital transformation and laying the foundation for smart government initiatives in the Kingdom.
Elias Mouchantaf, Solutions Sales Manager Eastern Cluster, Kodak Alaris, said "the government of Saudi is planning to transform the Kingdom from an oil-based economy to a knowledge based economy and in line with this vision, it is making concerted efforts to go fully digital. There is the need to reduce operating costs and manage resources better, deal with ever-changing regulations and improve staff productivity, enhance the citizen experience, build smart cities of tomorrow, increase transparency and accountability, unlock the knowledge and information needed in today's knowledge economy in an efficient and secure way. In this context, digital transformation is crucial and the best place to start is with digitization and scanning to speed up businesses and processes."
"Kodak Alaris exists to help governments and enterprises accelerate digital transformation, remove complexity and unlock the power of information and we intend sharing information management best practices and demonstrating our market-leading technologies and solutions to event attendees."
One of these market-leading technologies is the recently announced Info Input Solution from Kodak Alaris. The Info Input Solution is a web-based document capture application that provides an efficient way to integrate capture into existing enterprise content management (ECM) and line of business applications. Government agencies that implement Info Input can be more responsive to citizens and employees while driving down costs and enjoying the efficiencies of web-based business applications. The solution helps eliminate costs associated with thick client software by allowing IT departments to centrally manage the deployment and support of Info Input on desktops and mobile capture devices. It also eliminates per-user licenses and volume-based click charges.
Kodak Alaris has been investing considerably in Saudi, opening dedicated service centers in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Khamis Mushait, providing fast local support for organizations that use both Kodak Alaris and third party scanners.
Because Arabic is widely spoken in the country, Kodak Alaris launched both Arabic Interface and Arabic TWAIN drivers to its scanners capable of displaying Arabic text in its LCD Panels, unlocking new opportunities for Arabic speakers. The launch of the Arabic interface followed the opening of the service centers in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia mid of last year and demonstrates Kodak Alaris' commitment to offer the best possible service to the Kingdom and its growing demand by offering tailored solutions for the Arabic speaking world.
