Corey Kluber collected his first win of the season and Yan Gomes tied his career high by driving in five runs as the Cleveland Indians overwhelmed the Detroit Tigers 10-1. Kluber lost his first three starts, when the Indians only scored a combined three runs. He got plenty of run support Saturday as Cleveland reached double digits for the first time this season. He struck out 10, with Justin Upton fanning in all three of his at-bats against the 2014 American League Cy Young Award winner. Nationals 2, Twins 0: Tanner Roark struck out a career-high 15 batters in seven innings and Ryan Zimmerman drove in two runs in the first as the Washington Nationals beat the Minnesota Twins 2-0. For the second straight game, the Nationals jumped on the Twins in the first inning as Zimmerman had a two-run single. Washington improved to 13-4, while the last-place Twins are 5-13. Blue Jays 9, Athletics 3: Josh Donaldson hit a three-run home run, Troy Tulowitzki hit two solo homers, J.A. Happ pitched seven innings and the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Oakland Athletics 9-3. The loss ended a six-game winning streak for Oakland (10-8) and stopped a three-game losing skid by Toronto (9-10). It was the first loss in eight road games this season for the A's. Yankees 3, Rays 2: Brett Gardner homered with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the New York Yankees a dramatic 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. New York quickly reached two out in the ninth but won the game when Gardner drove a 3-and-1 fastball from Erasmo Ramirez (3-1) into the second deck in right field. White Sox 4, Rangers 3 (11 innings): Jose Abreu drove in the winning run with the bases loaded and one out in the 11th inning as the Chicago White Sox beat the Texas Rangers 4-3. Astros 8, Red Sox 3: Colby Rasmus belted his fifth career grand slam, delivering a much-needed blow to lift the Houston Astros to an 8-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox Saturday at Minute Maid Park. Rasmus crushed a 2-2 pitch from Red Sox right-hander Clay Buchholz (0-2) off the facing of the second deck in right field, snapping a 1-1 tie with two outs in the fifth inning and ending the Astros' four-game skid. Mets 8, Braves 2: Left-hander Steven Matz scattered nine hits over seven innings and the New York Mets won their seventh straight game at Turner Field with an 8-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves. Matz (2-1) struck out eight, one shy of his career high, and did not walk a batter. Matz threw 98 pitches, 74 for strikes, and won his second straight game.
