Published in The Saudi Gazette on 08 - 04 - 2016

ETIHAD Airways, the national airline of the UAE, is offering savings of up to 50 percent on its award-winning Business Class service, giving guests a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the airline's premium experience to exciting destinations around the world.
The offer, running from April 7 until April 13, in the UAE, is also available from a wide range of markets — Australia, Bahrain, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Kuwait, Mainland China, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Switzerland, United States and the United Kingdom.
With dates of travel from the UAE between April 15 and Dec. 12, guests can take advantage of these fabulous fares to plan business trips or a holiday of a lifetime. Members of Etihad Guest, the airline's frequent flyer program, are able to earn Etihad Guest Miles on the promotional fares. Having recently been named Airline of the Year by the prestigious aviation magazine Air Transport World and securing the coveted title of World's Leading Airline for the 7th consecutive year at the World Travel Awards, Etihad Airways has become an airline of choice for travellers globally.
Daniel Barranger, Etihad Airways' senior vice president global sales, said: "This is a great time to book that special trip. We hope that the incredible savings being offered will encourage travellers who are yet to experience our innovative Business Class service to see the world from a new perspective – one that only the luxury of the world's leading airline can deliver."
Business Class guests on all Etihad Airways flights enjoy a premium award-winning experience. Inflight, dedicated food and beverage managers, handpicked from some of the world's best hospitality establishments, oversee an extensive ‘dine anytime' a la carte and snack menu. In addition, guests have the comfort of guaranteed fully flat beds with direct aisle access on Etihad Airways' widebody aircraft.
On the ground, guests have access to airport lounges at more than 40 locations worldwide. The premium lounge in Abu Dhabi International Airport features a Six Senses Spa and Style and Shave by Etihad, both offering a range of complimentary treatments.
Travelers to the United States have the additional benefit of clearing US Immigration and Customs during their transit at the unique US Pre-Clearance facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport. This ensures they arrive in the United States as domestic passengers and so avoid immigration formalities on arrival.
All fares are bookable at etihad.com, Etihad Airways' local offices or through a local travel agent.
Etihad awarded for best IFE/Connectivity
Etihad Airways has been presented with the award for ‘Best IFE/Connectivity Launch by an Airline 2016' by leading industry magazine PAX International. The awards ceremony took place at the Aircraft Interiors Expo held in Hamburg, Germany.
The airline won the award based on the high levels of technology and innovation of its E-BOX inflight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) system and the content offered on its global route network. The accolade adds to a string of awards collected by the airline over the past year for its superior IFEC services, including Inflight magazine's Airline of the Year award 2015, PAX International magazine's award for Best New IFE/Connectivity Launch 2015, Inflight magazine's Best Airline In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) provider for the Middle East 2016, and the World Travel Award for Leading Airline Inflight Entertainment.
Shane O'Hare, Etihad Airways' Senior Vice President Marketing, said: "This award, voted by PAX International's readers over a six-month period, is recognition of Etihad Airways' commitment to ensure our guests continue to enjoy cutting-edge IFE technology and the latest communications solutions on all our aircraft."
Etihad Airways operates a fully connected fleet of modern Airbus and Boeing long-haul wide-body and short-haul narrow-body aircraft.
The airline's Live TV service is available on 50 wide-body aircraft, bringing quality content from seven television channels including BBC World News, Sport 24 and CNN, the top three most viewed channels, and CNBC, euronews, Japan's NHK World Premium and Sky News Arabia.
Etihad Airways has also introduced its latest next-generation E-BOX personal entertainment offering using the Panasonic eX3 interactive system, and was the first airline to install the cutting-edge IFE system on an Airbus A380. All A380s and Boeing 787s in the fleet will be equipped with Panasonic eX3. The system provides hundreds of hours of on-demand entertainment viewed on high definition, capacitive touch, in-seat monitors ranging from 11.1 inches in Economy Class, 18 inches in Business Class, 24 inches in First Class and 32 inches in The Residence.
EAMC, RCPI join forces
Meanwhile, Etihad Airways Medical Centre, the UAE's first aeromedical facility, and the Faculty of Occupational Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI), Ireland's oldest post-graduate medical training body, have announced a pioneering new partnership to provide the airline with educational, training, research and operational excellence opportunities in the field of Occupational Medicine.
The collaboration, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East, will enable Etihad Airways to enhance the medical and broader wellbeing services it provides, whilst also marking a significant step in the airline's vision to be the global leader in Aviation Medicine.
The partnership will form a key part of the airline's commitment to ensuring the highest safety standards for its crew and passengers, in line with Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 to develop a robust, world-class healthcare system in the Emirate. Etihad Airways Medical Centre, the Faculty and RCPI are committed to raising the understanding and role of Occupational Medicine within the airline industry, and across society as a whole.
As part of the innovative agreement, the Faculty will hold specialized training courses and educational programs to optimize and develop the skills of Etihad Airways' staff and the medical services offered by the airline. A ‘visiting expert' program will be introduced to allow both parties to exchange and transfer field experts to enhance knowledge-sharing. Research findings and medical scientific inventions, where applicable, will also be exchanged under the new agreement.
Dr Nadia Bastaki, vice president medical services at Etihad Airways, said: "Today is indeed a remarkable day for Etihad Airways Medical Centre and the field of aviation medicine. It is with great pride that we announce our partnership with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. Etihad Airways is leading the drive to raise standards in aviation medicine globally. It is therefore a natural step for us to join with the RCPI, a world-renowned training body, to ensure that we continue to innovate across our business and the industry as a whole."
Dr Declan Whelan, Dean of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland said: "We are honored and delighted to collaborate with Etihad Airways on their occupational health strategy. Our agreement with them represents international recognition by a world-renowned airline of the high quality of Occupational Medicine in Ireland.
