One hundred and fifty more properties will be torn down for the expansion of the northern halls of the Holy Mosque here. The decision by the central modernization committee of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs will take the total number of expropriated properties to 1,120. More than 80 companies, 1,000 vehicles and 3,000 workers have been engaged to tear down the expropriated buildings. Nearly 970 buildings have been torn down, accounting for about 95% of the total demolition work. Work is scheduled to finish by the end of this month. Meanwhile, large sections of the Mosque's halls are being prepared to receive Haj pilgrims. Some sections of the Mosque will be temporarily opened for pilgrims visiting during Ramadan. – Okaz __
