The Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre got underway with an opening to remember on 22 March, as world-famous chef and television personality, Martha Stewart, served guests a spectacular meal to mark the first day of the gastronomic event, of which Qatar Airways is official co-host along with the Qatar Tourism Authority. Martha, renowned for her cooking expertise, delivered a delectable menu during her one hour live cooking demonstration. Dishes included healthy salads and side dishes including quinoa and salmon and an energizing juice made of grapefruit, carrot and ginger. Qatar Airways' signature food festival event proved extremely popular with festivalgoers, who also enjoyed watching George Calombaris, chef, restaurateur, and judge of MasterChef Australia. Regarded as one of Australia's top chefs, the MasterChef lifted the lid on kitchen secrets and entertained the audience with his highly influential style of cuisine that has earned him many accolades and respect from culinary aficionados across the globe. George spent his time in the kitchen serving mouthwatering dishes including a Spanakopita; a traditional Greek savory pastry cooked with spinach and chicken, served alongside some of his most popular dessert recipes of apple shisha mouse, bitter chocolate sorbet and smoked apple fluid gel. Salam Al Shawa, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Communications at Qatar Airways, said: "We couldn't have asked for a more spectacular line-up for the Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre.
