Published in The Saudi Gazette on 31 - 03 - 2016

The Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre has once again proved to be a great hit at the ongoing Qatar International Food Festival, with celebrity chefs sharing their culinary skills, favorite recipes and professional insights in to the art of fine dining through live cooking demonstrations.
Food lovers in Qatar have been treated to fantastic fare and entertainment over the past few days thanks to a stellar line-up of award winning chefs from across the globe, celebrated for their unique skills and modern approach to culinary classics.
The Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre got underway with an opening to remember on 22 March, as world-famous chef and television personality, Martha Stewart, served guests a spectacular meal to mark the first day of the gastronomic event, of which Qatar Airways is official co-host along with the Qatar Tourism Authority.
Martha, renowned for her cooking expertise, delivered a delectable menu during her one hour live cooking demonstration. Dishes included healthy salads and side dishes including quinoa and salmon and an energizing juice made of grapefruit, carrot and ginger.
Qatar Airways' signature food festival event proved extremely popular with festivalgoers, who also enjoyed watching George Calombaris, chef, restaurateur, and judge of MasterChef Australia. Regarded as one of Australia's top chefs, the MasterChef lifted the lid on kitchen secrets and entertained the audience with his highly influential style of cuisine that has earned him many accolades and respect from culinary aficionados across the globe.
George spent his time in the kitchen serving mouthwatering dishes including a Spanakopita; a traditional Greek savory pastry cooked with spinach and chicken, served alongside some of his most popular dessert recipes of apple shisha mouse, bitter chocolate sorbet and smoked apple fluid gel.
Salam Al Shawa, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Communications at Qatar Airways, said: "We couldn't have asked for a more spectacular line-up for the Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre. Martha created delicious cooking on the stage kitchen, serving up food that was truly cooked with passion and George took fine dining to a new level sharing his rich insights that transform everyday food into art. This year's Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre satisfied the taste buds of hundreds of thousands of guests, who experienced the global cuisine styles of our carefully selected culinary experts."
Also entertaining visitors to QIFF in MIA Park and The Pearl was multiple award-winning Vineet Bhatia, Qatar Airways' exclusive on board chef; Chef Massimo Capra, creator of the Qatar Duty Gree's Soprafino Restaurant at Hamad International Airport; Michelin star-rated talents Tagaki Kazuo, Paul Bentley, Tim Butler, and Jesús Escalera, plus Francisco Ruano and a number of fabulous chefs from the Arabic food channel Fatafeat, such as Salma Soleiman, and Mohamad Orfali.
