RIYADH — The Criminal Court trying the ring of spies for Iran instructed that the fourth suspect, who refused to attend court hearings on Tuesday, be brought by force next time. The fourth suspect, who was accused of photographing military installations for Iran, refused to appear before the court and told his prison guards that he was not leaving his room. The defendant, according to the attorney general, had received a tiny camera from Iranian intelligence elements in Malaysia to capture the Kingdom's vital military installations. The judge asked him to attend the sessions and said he would be brought to the court by force next time. The court on Monday heard the first and second suspects. It was supposed to listen to the third and fourth suspects on Tuesday but the fourth suspect refused to appear before it while the third was present. In every session, the court listens to two defendants individually until it has heard all 32 suspects accused of spying for Iran. The third defendant, who was represented by his wife, asked the court to give him more time to prepare his reply to the charges against him. The court responded to his request asking him to be ready with his reply for the next hearing next month. The wife repeated his request to prevent journalists from attending the court session, but the judge refused the request. The lawyers have been absent since the court hearing started on Monday. However, they conveyed their demands to the court through the third defendant. They wanted reserved parking lots near the court, permission to enter the court with their mobile phones and the assurance that they will not be body-searched before entering the court. The judge told them to make their demands to the chairman of the court. The third suspect was facing a number of charges including his assignment by Iranian intelligence elements to recruit qualified people to work for the Iranian Al-Alam Arabic space channel from the Kingdom to achieve its objective to defame Saudi Arabia and create chaos in the country.
