Saudi Gazette JEDDAH —Ambassador of Pakistan Manzoor ul Haq enlightened about the negative effects of performing Haj without "Tasreeh" (permission letter) from Saudi government. He was speaking in presence of local media figures at Consulate General of PakistanJeddah recently. Shehryar Akber Khan, consul general of Pakistan, accompanied him to the meeting. The ambassador said performing Haj without permission is illegal. If anyone is caught without "Tasreeh" the authorities will deport the person after finger printing the illegal performer of Haj. The deportee would then not be able to enter Saudi Arabia for ten years. He stressed the need to create awareness among the Pakistani expatriate community about the importance of respecting the laws and regulations, social traditions, values and feelings of Saudi citizens, along with fostering brotherhood, tolerance and promoting the soft image of his motherland (Pakistan). The privileges and immunities not only benefits individuals but also enables missions to solve problems efficiently and properly, if the compatriots strictly follow the laws and regulations, said Haq. He urged his compatriots to avoid any disputes in labor offices and to read carefully the employment agreement prior to arriving in the Kingdom. He also discussed many issues including disputes in Pakistan International Schools (PISJ) Al-Aziziyah and PISJ-ES (Rehab) districts, release of prisoners from Saudi jails, delay in construction of new consulate building, courier service for passport delivery at one's doorsteps, issue of emergency passports, attestation of documents and opening of school for Pakistani expatriates in Madinah. Haq promised to look into the matter and assured his cooperation in release of those prisoners who are detained due to nonpayment of fines. He advised all members of the school management committee to focus on governance instead of interference in irrelevant matters, which would damage the image of Pakistan too. Consul General Khan said as summer is approaching the consulate is arranging water coolers and more shade for visitors for their protection from the sunlight.
