Citizens, who assist the Consumer Protection Association (CPA), are to receive financial compensation for their services. The announcement was made by the CPA Chairman Dr. Nasser Aal Twayyim who said the size of the rewards will range from SR2,000 to as much as SR10,000. The reward comes out of the decree No. 1/32/230 which was passed on 28/11/1432H. The purpose of this decree was to create a statute to regulate part-time workers who assist the organization and to clarify their rights and duties. Under the draft regulation, the workers are divided into those who do so for monetary gain and those who do so for the experience. The financial reward will be decided by the committee, while the part-timer will be entitled to an experience certificate after six months. According to Dr. Nasser Aal Twayyim, there are several categories through which citizens can cooperate with the association. “Volunteers will get free membership in the CPA for one year, provided he fulfills the conditions and his membership in the association exceeds six months. He will also get a certificate of thanks and appreciation at the end of his work period.” The paid workers have been divided into three categories, and must meet certain criteria before they will be employed. Class A workers will have supervisory roles and will be paid between SR5,000 and SR10,000. However they must hold a bachelor's degree and have five years experience. Class B workers will be assigned executive tasks and will be paid between SR3,000 and SR6,000 a month. However they must hold a diploma and have at least three years experience in their field. Class C workers will be organizational, technical and support workers. These workers must hold at least a primary school certificate and have one year experience in the field. These workers will be paid between SR2,000 and SR3,500. However, Al-Twayyim said: “The Executive Council can exempt the part-timer from these conditions if they feel they should do so.” He also announced that the association is demanding SR20 million from the 28 chambers of commerce in the Kingdom. He claims the amount ought to be allocated for the association. Al-Twayyim said: “Article 18 stipulates that 10 percent of fees for attestation of commercial documents ought to be allocated for the CPA in each region.” __
