Reith Governorate is one of the most important tourist sites in Jizan region. A large fissure in the eastern part of Al-Qahar Mountain, 150 kilometers from Jizan, the valley is the preferred destination for thousands of tourists every year. One of the reasons is the stunning view of the mountain and rock formations. Views of large rocks and misshapen mountains simply take one's breath away. When visitors approach Wadi Lajab, they are struck by the beauty of the area with tall trees between two mountains. Once you get there, the eyes are magnetically drawn up to where the sky meets the top of the mountains. The ears are treated to the sounds of mountain springs and waterfalls intermingled with the sounds of chirping birds. Two kilometers into the site, visitors can park their cars and take a stroll, taking in views of running water and natural swimming pools. The stunning gardens and the 30-meter-high palm trees surrounding Wadi Lajab set the senses and the imagination racing. The roots of the trees creep into the running waters providing a view rarely seen elsewhere. Wadi Lajab is not just famous in the Kingdom but throughout the world and every year groups of foreign tourists descend upon the valley. One group of tourists told Saudi Press Agency that they visit Wadi Lajab every year because of its beauty. They said the area has immense potential for pleasure seekers and investors. “More attention must be given to lighting and cleaning the valley so that investors realize its potential and build restaurants and furnished apartments to meet the needs of the growing number of tourists,” said a visitor to the site.
