JEDDAH — Pakistan Repatriation Council (PRC) organized a farewell meeting for Dr. Irfan Hashmi, senior vice president of PRC who is leaving Kingdom after serving for 16 years in Saudi Arabia. Members who attended were Hamid Islam Khan, Aziz Ahmed, Choudhry Riaz Ghumman, Shamsuddin Altaf, Syed Shehabuddin, Syed Naseeruddin, Mohammad Luqman, Mohammad Amanatullah, Zamurrad Khan Saifi, Mohammad Akram Agha and Abdul Razzaq Shamsuddin Altaf recited few verses from Holy Qur'an to start the proceedings. Convener Syed Ehsanul Haque welcomed all participants. He praised Dr. Irfan Hashmi's contribution for the cause of stranded Pakistanis. Haque also updated the news that he met on Dec. 19 senate head Raja Zafrul Haque in presence of Dr. Abdullah Omar Nasseef and submitted another reminder on the issue and stated Raja Zafrul Haque has promised that he would submit the reminder to prime minister and expected a solution to the issue soon. During the meeting members emphasized that due to cool attitude of our government a delegation headed by Dr. Abdullah Omar Nasseef, including Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi and few key community members, should approach Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to seek his direct intervention for the repatriation and rehabilitation of patriotic Pakistanis stranded in Bangladesh. The members praised articles of Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi on Kashmir and Quaid-e-Azam and prayed for his health and success. The members condemned act of arson last week in a camp in Dhaka in which dozens of inmates were injured. Dr. Irfan Hashmi thanked PRC members for the kind words and support. Supplications were made for late Professor Mohammad Fayeq Badayouni, who passed away last Monday in Karachi.
