Under the patronage of Prince Faisal Bin Bandar, Dur Hospitality has celebrated laying the foundation stone of the Riyadh Marriott Hotel Diplomatic Quarter and Marriott Executive Apartments Riyadh Diplomatic Quarter. Both properties are expected to open in 2018, adding to Marriott International's existing offering in Riyadh. The innovative design of the hotel was inspired by the fascinating ambience of Wadi Hanifa reflecting the natural topography and exquisite architectural style. The hotel has been designed to achieve the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design's (LEED) Golden certification, which reflects Dur's keenness to act on their environmental values through developing working models that provide examples to follow. The project incorporates a 5 star 80-room hotel and 140 luxury hotel apartments, high-end restaurants, meeting space and business center that extends over an approximate area of 25,000 square meters. Engineer Abdullah Al Essa, Chairman of Dur Hospitality, expressed his delight and appreciation toward the generous support granted to Dur hospitality since its establishment by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and extended his appreciation and thankfulness in HRH's patronage of the event, which will support the company in its endeavor of achieving its strategy of developing hotels and high-end apartment complexes that will contribute to the prosperity of the Kingdom's tourism sector. Alex Kyriakidis, President and Managing Director for Middle East & Africa, Marriott International, said: " We continue to see huge potential for growth in the Kingdom, and today's ceremony to lay the first foundation stone in our next property, in partnership with Dur Hospitality, is testament to this. The location of this property is strategic and will attract both business and leisure guests, as it sits in the heart of Riyadh."
