Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has won the "Global Traveler Magazine's" annual award for the continuous distinguished services. The American magazine gives out annual awards to the airline companies who excel in onboard and ground services. Saudia has been flying to the US for more than 35 years and have operated direct flights and added new destinations. The award was handed over during the recent celebrations in Los Angeles which marked the opening of a Saudia office there. Solaiman bin Abdullah Al-Hamdan, president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) who is the Chairman of Saudia's board of directors, Saudia Director General Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser and the Saudi Consul General in Los Angeles Faisal Al-Sudairy attended the function. Saudia has started its direct flights between Jeddah and New York in 1981.
