Under the auspices Prince Khaled Al Faisal, Governor of the Makkah Al Mukarramah Region and Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the two-day 2nd Jeddah Entrepreneurs Meet and Competition kicks off today (Jan. 26) at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Building on the theme "Promoting the Spirit of Enterprise", the Jeddah Entrepreneurs Meet and Competition aims to develop and promote understanding of the spirit of enterprise through mentorship, seed money funding and initiatives presented by the public and private sector to further open doors for their business development targeting women entrepreneurs across the Kingdom. The event focuses on the three key challenges affecting the development of women owned business during the first cycle within legislation, procedures, training and market readiness. Taking part in the event are a number of key speakers and the event will witness the presentation of the finalists of the Entrepreneurs Competition that was launched in early September and funded by King Khalid Foundation. The finalists have undergone a personality and business workshop followed by an intensive 5-day boot camp at Qotuf AlRiyadah to help them prepare their business plans and presentation process to the judging committee. The judging committee met with 27 contestants to select the winners within each category. Winners will be announced tomorrow during the Jeddah Entrepreneurs Meet. Taking part in the judging committee were Dr. Nahed Taher, Maha Fitaihi, Dr. Mohammed Fitaihi, Ziad Al Bassam, Dr. Nabil Al Tarifi, Mohamed Suwaileh, Mr. Abdullah Abduljawad, Eng. Mohannad Nabulsi and Mr. Bandar Arab. Registration to attend the forum is open guests can register online on www.jem-yje.com and receive their entry badges to be able to attend the event. During the forum the 30 finalists will be given an opportunity to present their business plans to the audience within a set timing. The event will also play host to 10 budding entrepreneurial ventures presented by young men who will have 60 seconds to pitch their ideas to the audience overseen by Oqal Board Jeddah.
