Drug Department officer was killed on Wednesday in exchange of fire with drug dealers in Al-Darb governorate in the southern Jazan Province. Sergeant Faisal Hassan Al-Qaysi, who sustained serious injuries, died of his wounds on the way to the hospital, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday quoting the spokesman of the Ministry of Interior as saying. Al-Qaysi was shot by a drug dealer while he, along with other security men, was chasing illegal residents engaged in drug trafficking. The security men returned fire and killed the attacker. They found one kilogram of hashish in his possession. The security authorities had acted on a tip-off that a number of illegal residents were engaged in drug trafficking and sales in Al-Darb. They took advantage of the rugged valleys to carry out their crimes. A drug combat team has been assigned the task of launching manhunt to apprehend them, SPA reported.
