British Airways offers special fare to travelers in Kingdom
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 21 - 01 - 2016

According to a survey conducted by British Airways, taking part in family activities, discovering entertainment venues and visiting historical landmarks are among the top activities that KSA residents look forward to when they travel.
British Airways' first special fares campaign of 2016 offers residents of KSA the opportunity to plan ahead to their next holiday and explore a new destination. For a limited time until Feb. 3, 2016, customers in KSA can take advantage of the special fares to cities across Europe and North America with travel valid until June 15, 2016. For example, return flights to London start from as little as SR2,410 and to New York from as little as SR3,030.
Later this year, British Airways will launch direct flights from London to Inverness in Scotland, San Jose in California, Menorca in Spain, Palermo in Sicily, San Jose in Costa Rica and Lima in Peru among other new routes.
"Travel today has become more affordable allowing families to plan more than one holiday a year," said Paolo De Renzis, Head of Middle East, Africa and Central Asia Sales for British Airways. "We fly daily between Riyadh and Jeddah to London offering our customers excellent connections to 188 destinations across our network. We hope this latest offer encourages people to create memories as they discover new places with us."
For residents unable to decide which destination is the right choice for their next holiday, a visit to highlife.ba.com – the website for the British Airways' inflight magazine – can help steer travelers in the right direction through an interactive quiz.
For travelers from KSA looking to simply explore the European continent and visit popular landmarks, London provides an excellent starting point with its many historical sites. Visit Big Ben, the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the Palace of Westminster or The Shard, a twenty-first century landmark offering the highest and best views of the capital.
From London, British Airways passengers can choose to fly to over 97 destinations in Europe and visit famous landmarks ranging from The Colosseum in Rome to the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the Sagrada Familia and Montjuïc Hill in Barcelona. Another must visit European country is Belgium, the country may be small but it is rich in landmarks and has been at the forefront of European history. Bruges is a major highlight here with its perfectly-preserved medieval streets and tranquil canals that lure flocks of travelers every year.
For those looking to see landmarks across North America, a holiday adventure can start with a visit to the Big Apple. In New York, travelers could start with a visit to the Statue of Liberty, a historic gift from France to the USA designed by Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel. Tourists from KSA can also plan a trip to the once tallest building in Manhattan, the Empire State building, which was built in 1930. Another must visit venue is the Independence Hall in Philadelphia. In this building, the Declaration of Independence was signed and George Washington was appointed Commander in Chief of the Continental Army, making it a structure loaded with historical significance. Not to be missed is the capital of the USA – Washington D.C – home to several landmarks including the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the White House and countless others. Moving to the West Coast and situated on Mount Lee in the Hollywood Hills, is the universally famous Hollywood Sign overlooking all of Los Angeles. — SG
