JEDDAH — Consul General of India, B.S. Mubarak, honored two Indian nationals Javid Ahamed and Syed Mukassir Bukhari at the Consulate premises, for rendering invaluable services during Haj 2015.
The Indian Haj Mission, in the previous season, introduced a Mobile App that helped the pilgrims to locate their accommodation and started using social media to update the pilgrims' reports on a daily basis. Both these initiatives were successful.
This team was involved in preparing attractive infographs on Haj operations and assisted the Consulate in disseminating the information promptly and effectively on its websites and social media platforms.
The information available on HYPERLINK "http://www.facebook.com/hajmission" www.facebook.com/hajmission was also used by various media agencies and Ministry of External Affairs in India. This platform proved to be an interactive medium for the pilgrims and their relatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Mubarak said: "This platform paved the way for daily updating of pilgrims' reports as well as interaction with them. I am happy with the way these young volunteers helped us achieve the purpose and also they did it in a creative manner."
Javid, who works as the creative director in Quartz, said, "This is the second consecutive year for us and we are quite satisfied and more than happy to be a part of this team."
Mukassir, group business director in Quartz said, "Sharing the right information at the right time is important and we are glad to receive this appreciation from our CG today."
Mohd Shahid Alam, Haj consul, was also present and appreciated the team's work.
