Maison Bo-M invited local and regional fashion designers to showcase their creative ideas and in the process, helped introduce the public to some of the best designers in the GCC. Layla Alshehri, the Buying Director at Maison Bo-M, told Saudi Gazette that local and regional designers were given tips on fashion design, styling, trend forecasting, PR, branding and sales. Based on this, various workshops were held during the past two months with influencers and experts from the fashion industry. British Council UK Fashion Programme Managers, Kendall Robbins and Niamh Tuft, gave an introduction to working in the international fashion industries exploring the role that cultural heritage can play in making strong fashion statements. Through hands on activities participants were taught where they want to take their brands internationally. Rebekah Roy, UK stylist took participants through a hands-on masterclass on how to create a killer fashion image. UK fashion designer Georgia Hardinge took participants through a hands-on workshop explaining some of the key designs and techniques used in her work, including working technological fabrics, textile treatments and specialist pleating. RFD showcases women's ready to wear, Abayas, bags, jewellery, shoes and accessories. British Council, as the UK's international organisation for education and cultural relations, runs programmes in partnership with local and international organisations with the mission to promote diversity and entrepreneurship to boost the local scene.
