ABHA – Mothers and wives of martyrs who have lost their children and husbands to terrorist attacks said they were relieved after the death penalty carried out by Saudi authorities against convicted terrorists. They said they believed in Islamic justice and the executions gave them a new life after closure to their bereavement. While the execution of terrorists gave a severe blow to the ambitions of the Kingdom's enemies, the families of martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of the Kingdom and religion were overjoyed by the establishment of justice against the perpetrators of terror. The mother of Corporal Abdullah Ahmed Aseeri, who was martyred during a terror attack on emergency forces in a mosque in Asir region on Aug. 6, 2015, said she was happy that her son's killers had been executed. "These terrorists have killed innocent people, including children, and forced their kith and kin to weep in grief," she said. "We believed in justice with patience, and justice has now restored our rights against these terrorists by the grace of Allah." She added: "The martyrdom of our children has proved their love for the Kingdom. They defended the nation's honor. They also proved their allegiance to the Saudi leadership." Aseeri's mother remembered the day when the terrorist attack occurred, and said she was proud of her son when she learned of his martyrdom. "Our entire tribe is proud of him," she said. Salma Awdha, mother of Eid Matir Al-Shahrani, who was also killed in the attack, thanked Allah for the execution of her son's killers. "We thank God for restoring the right of our son's children against those terrorists who have been spreading corruption on the earth," she said. "We deem it a big honor that our son was martyred for the sake of the Kingdom and religion. This should be the dream of every man in our country," Awdha said. She commended the Kingdom's leaders for extending their generous support to Al-Shahrani's family. "This reflects the close relationship between the Saudi leaders and the people," she said. She said the government's support after Al-Shahrani's martyrdom had played a big role in reducing their pain and grief over the loss. Awdha said she prayed for the Saudi leadership, as well as for peace and stability all over the Kingdom. Badr, son of Mufreh Ali Aseeri, another martyr, said he was happy about the executions. "We have full confidence in Islamic justice and we are happy that the Saudi leadership has been extending its full support ever since our father's martyrdom," he said.
