Okaz Executive courts in the Kingdom have received 150,000 applications during the last Hijra year 1436 as many individuals and institutions approached them to obtain their rights, which the defendants had delayed to pay despite court rulings. These courts have already given their verdicts in 63,000 cases during the year. They are still looking into more than 81,000 cases. The executive courts have forced the defendants to pay amounts worth SR17 billion. The remaining cases are likely to fetch over SR32 billion. The executive court uses force on those who delay payment of people's dues. These defendants not only delayed payment of the plaintiffs' dues but also deferred implementation of previous court verdicts in favor of plaintiffs. This has forced people to approach executive courts. Many people delay payment because of their feeling that they would not lose anything. They were supposed to pay the dues to its owners in the first place. Even after issuing the verdicts by the labor court or the administrative court they delayed payment further. These defendants have been playing with the rights of plaintiffs, forcing the latter to visit the courts every day to get their rights. They also keep judicial authorities busy with more than 150,000 cases reaching courts in a single year. In light of this situation, it is essential to review the court procedures and impose fines on individuals and institutions that delay payment of the rights of others. Such defendants should also pay enough compensation to the plaintiffs. If defendants had not delayed payment of the dues of plaintiffs, the judicial authorities would not have been burdened by these cases.
