Aljomaih Automotive thrills audience at the SIMS 2015
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 26 - 12 - 2015

Aljomaih Automotive, the largest dealer of General Motors in KSA and the Middle East, participated in the 37th Saudi International Motor Show (SIMS 2015) held in Jeddah. Its stand featured a wide variety of new 2016 Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac models, spearheaded by the local premiere of the Cadillac V-series in the Kingdom, namely the all-new ATS-V and CTS-V. Additionally, the giant automotive dealer's stand hosted the Yukon, Terrain and all new Sierra GMC models, besides the Corvette stingray, Tahoe, Malibu, Cruze and the totally new Spark Chevrolet models.
Sheikh Walid Aljomaih, Chief Operating Officer of Aljomaih Automotive, said "we always seek to participate in the Saudi International Motor Show, which proves hugely attractive for car aficionados. It allows us to get up close and personal to our current and potential clients, in addition to those looking forward to have a look at the latest in the automotive industry."
He added "visitors to the show will notice the direction our brand will take in the near future, through a variety of new models that satisfy the needs of those seeking performance, comfort and luxury for all family members."
The all-new Cadillac CTS-V reflects the radical change that permeates the concept of Cadillac cars in general. That fact is evident in the aggressive and luxurious front fascia, sleek and aerodynamic sidelines, and several aesthetically pleasing touches, such as the heavily contoured engine hood, bulging fenders and modern LED headlamps. As for performance, the chassis has been meticulously calibrated to satisfy the needs of highly dynamic driving, and includes a host of V-specific adjustments to handle sharp corners properly and deal with the engine's massive torque reserves suitably. Additionally, CTS-V houses an 8-speed automatic transmission that assists in reaching top speed quickly and smoothly. And by maintaining the power band, it keeps engine performance at its peak.
Moreover, CTS-V features a personalized drive no matter what the variables are, whereby four selectable drive modes assist in adjusting the suspension for ultimate responsiveness and control. As for the interior, intricate matte carbon fiber trim, signature V thick rim steering wheel, suede microfiber headliner and accents, turn it into an immensely satisfying cockpit.
With roots in the performance racing circuit, the 2016 ATS-V Sports Coupe is built to rule the road as easily as it rules the track. The minute you get onto the road, green lights start to feel more like starting lines. Add to that a range of refined interior features and sporty exterior lines, and you will find the edge of your seat never looked or felt so good.
The heart of Cadillac ATS-V 2016 is the 3.6L 464 hp twin turbo engine producing 603 Nm of class-leading torque. High-strength lightweight titanium connecting rods, low-inertia titanium-aluminate turbine wheels with optimized compressors and a patented low-volume charge-air cooler, create near immediate torque response and dramatically reduce acceleration times. Additionally, the class-exclusive V-tuned temperature adapting Magnetic Ride Control suspension, reads and reacts to the road up to 1,000 times per second — providing the precise amount of control for maximum performance and the smoothest ride in all conditions.
As for the bestselling pickup truck in the Middle East, the all-new GMC Sierra 2016, it arrives in a new elegant design direction enveloping novel and advanced engineering solutions. In that regard, the cabin is meticulously designed, and the exterior glitters with new bumpers and novel LED lighting technology for the headlamps, fog lights, C-shaped daytime running lights and rear lights. As for the front grille, it serves as a unique differentiator amongst the truck's three versions.
Technology wise, GMC Sierra 2016 benefits from a host of new and state-of-the-art innovations, such as Lane Keeping assistant that maintains the pickup's position in the lane through active and mild steering interventions. Moreover, the headlamps feature IntelliBeam function, which adjusts the scope of long-range light automatically the moment it senses oncoming traffic. That is not all, as the new Sierra enables the user to connect a smartphone to the car via GMC IntelliLink function, which enhances connectivity and communication, thereby improving safety. It also allows smartphone users to access applications, such as navigation and messaging, hands-free via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The latter comes as standard with the new 7-inch screen.
Other modified features for the 2016 Sierra model, include a standard 8-speed Hydra-matic 8L90 automatic transmission along with the 5.3 litre V8 engine (SLT version) and the 6.2 litre V8 engine (Sierra Denali). Moreover, all Sierra versions include a wireless phone charger, remote rear door opening and closing (SLE, SLT, Denali), and new optional 20- inch chrome aluminum wheel design. As for the exterior colours, clients can choose between dual tone Crimson Red, Cardinal Red, Rich Metallic and dual tone Snow White.
