JEDDAH — Members of the Indian community in Jeddah offered deep condolences to Syed Masood Ahmed, principal of International Indian School-Jeddah (IISJ), on the death of his mother Muneerunisa. She was 88. A large number of Indian community members, including staff members and students of IISJ, attended the funeral prayer for Muneerunisa held at Palestine Mosque on Prince Miteb Street (Arbaeen) and the body was buried at Al-Rahma cemetery on Monday. The principal's father, Syed Wadood Ahmed (Hyderabad), passed away when he was only an infant and since then Muneerunisa single-handedly brought up and educated Masood Ahmed and his three sisters — Anjuman, Wajida and Bilqis. Muneerunisa had been living in Jeddah for about 30 years. IISJ Managing Committee Chairman Mohammed Raziq Abdul Wahid, members of the managing committee, and leaders of the Indian community conveyed their condolences to Ahmed. Teachers, staff members, students and parents of IISJ also mourned the death. Ahmed, who received condolences at the Girl's Section of IISJ between Maghreb and Isha prayers on Monday, conveyed heartfelt gratitude to all who attended the last rites of his mother and visited or called him to offer condolences.
