2016 Chevrolet Impala launched in Middle East
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 19 - 12 - 2015

designed full-size sedan, Impala promises advanced safety and entertainment technologies, modern design cues and excellent efficiency – a combination that continues to draw accolades.
For 2016, Impala is offered in LS, LT and LTZ models, with a 3.6L V-6 engine rated at 305 horsepower and 356 N-m of torque. That is the highest horsepower output in the segment from a naturally-aspirated V-6 engine. Lightweight features support a more balanced driving experience and include an integrated cylinder head/exhaust manifold design that saves approximately 13 pounds (6 kg) per engine.
The engine is matched with a six-speed automatic transmission.
In addition, the new Impala has 10 standard air bags – more than most other vehicles in the full-size sedan segment – full-speed-range Cruise Control, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, rear camera and rear-park assist.
On the design front, the 2016 model doesn't disappoint. The Impala's exterior styling honors the design elements that have distinguished the classic nameplate for decades. It has that timeless Chevy sedan presence thanks to its modern, aggressive style.
Moreover, its spacious interior blends with almost endless infotainment options thanks to MyLink – which includes navigation and Bluetooth audio streaming among many other features and is controlled via a touch screen on an available eight-inch display. A standard audio amplifier is a feature not typical for the segment and a Bose surround-sound audio system is available.
With wireless charging, smartphone users can charge their devices with utmost convenience: all they need to do is place their compatible phone on a charging pad in front of the shifter, with no need for cords or wires.
On LTZ models, new phone projection technology displays content from Apple iPhone 5 or later models on the multicolor screen – through the Apple CarPlay feature – with voice-activated technology for radio and phone. Apple CarPlay puts iPhone features on the vehicle's display in a smart, simple manner. This allows drivers to make calls, send and receive messages and listen to music right from the touchscreen or by voice via Siri. Apple CarPlay-supported apps include Phone, Messages, Maps, Music and third-party audio apps.
The 2016 Impala is offered in four new exterior colors including premium hues Siren Red Tintcoat and Green Envy Metallic. The other new colors are Iridescent Pearl Tricoat and Mosaic Black Metallic.
All 2016 Impala owners will receive a new level of customer experience courtesy of Chevrolet Complete Care. The comprehensive aftersales package promises additional value with competitive and transparent maintenance pricing; one-hour servicing; two days advanced booking; a regional three-year/100,000-km warranty; and four years of regional 24x7 roadside assistance.
The Impala was named one of Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com 15 Best Family Cars of 2015, and was selected as one of US News & World Report's 2015 Best Cars for Families.
The 2016 Impala is now available for sale in showrooms across the Middle East.
Founded in 1911 in Detroit, Chevrolet is now one of the world's largest automotive brands, doing business in more than 140 countries and selling more than 4.9 million cars and pickups a year. Chevrolet provides customers with fuel-efficient vehicles that feature spirited performance, expressive design, high quality and outstanding value. The Chevrolet portfolio for the Middle East features award-winning passenger cars such as the Spark, Sonic, Cruze, Malibu, Impala, Camaro and Corvette; crossovers such as the Captiva and Traverse; and, SUVs and pickups including the Tahoe and Silverado. Chevrolet also offers customers a high-level aftersales service experience through Chevrolet Complete Care. — SG
