Walking is the most preferred mode of exercise for 80 percent of residents in the Kingdom, revealed a study by a leading provider of next generation information gathering and data analysis technology for decision makers. Zarca Interactive has now revealed the findings of its third quarter (Q3) health and fitness study for the Kingdom which indicates a surge in positive health trends being adopted by the country's residents. The independent study conducted in Saudi Arabia by Zarca Interactive witnessed the participation of 756 respondents. The respondent base of the survey included 44 percent Saudi nationals and over 25 percent Western residents, with other nationalities constituting the remainder in the nationwide survey. A male to female ratio of approximately 88:12 was witnessed in the survey of which over 36 percent of respondents were in the age group of 35-44 years. In a positive trend, a massive 85 percent of the respondent base confirmed that they eat breakfast every day, with over 62 percent of them confirming that they ate breakfast at their home. Toast with eggs along with coffee/tea emerged as the most favored breakfast items for the survey respondents in Saudi Arabia. Over 55 percent of respondents stated that they have adopted the healthy habit of consuming three meals a day. Three in 10 (30 percent) of Asian and sub-continent expatriates stated that they never undertake any form of exercise. A majority of the respondents resort to the Internet and television to relieve their stress, instead of opting for any kind of physical activity. This finding was further emphasized by the result that over 11 percent of the survey respondents bring work home every day.
