Neymar scored twice and Luis Suarez added another goal Sunday to again lead Barcelona in the absence of Lionel Messi, this time to a 3-0 win at home over Villarreal that provisionally lifted the defending champion to the top of the Spanish league. Barcelona needed an hour of insistent attacks until Neymar broke through before Suarez added a penalty in the 70th. Neymar scored an exquisite second goal in the 85th when he used a sublime touch to flip the ball over a defender before spinning and driving it home. Real Madrid is three points behind the Catalan club. The fierce rivals are set to meet next round after the international break. One thing is clear: Neymar and Suarez are giving Barcelona's fans hope that they won't need Messi to get a good result at Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. The two stars lead Barcelona with 13 goals each this season and have scored 20 of Barcelona's 23 goals since Messi tore a ligament in his left knee on Sept. 26. Neymar scored twice and Suarez once in a 3-0 win over BATE Borisov in the Champions League on Wednesday. Elsewhere, Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams continued to impress by scoring a superb goal to help beat Espanyol 2-1. Spain striker Paco Alcacer and Dani Parejo scored twice each to lead Valencia to a commanding 5-1 victory at Celta Vigo Saturday. Eibar continued its surprising season by remaining in sixth place, just above Valencia, with a 3-1 win over visiting Getafe. Inter moves up Inter Milan moved provisionally clear at the top of the Serie A table with a 1-0 win at Torino Sunday, while Roma kept up the pressure with a 2-0 victory over Lazio in the capital derby. Geoffrey Kondogbia scored his first Serie A goal to leave Inter one point clear of Roma and three ahead of Fiorentina. Elsewhere, Juventus came back from a goal down to win 3-1 at Empoli and move above Lazio on goal difference, with the capital side having lost four of its past five matches. Sassuolo beat relegation-threatened Carpi 1-0 to move level on points with fourth-placed Napoli, which hosts Udinese later. Genoa rescued a 2-2 draw at fellow struggler Frosinone despite playing more than 50 minutes with 10 men after Sebastian De Maio was sent off for two bookings. Palermo beat Chievo Verona 1-0. AC Milan's winning streak was ended by Atalanta in a 0-0 draw at home Saturday. Earlier, Bologna won 2-0 at fellow struggler Hellas Verona in what was already billed as a relegation fight, even at this early stage of the season. Korea set to replace goal difference with goals scored In a bid to increase entertainment, South Korea's K-League is set to replace goal difference with goals scored as the first means of separating teams equal on points. A recent meeting at the league's headquarters in Seoul proposed the measure and it is expected to be confirmed in December and then be in place for the start of the 2016 season in February. "When you watch a K-League game, you can see that after a team scores a goal, they often look to just protect that lead," a K-League official was quoted as saying by domestic media. "The games can then be boring and excitement levels drop."
