The 2015 GMC Sierra scooped up the title of ‘Best Truck' at the Middle East Car of the Year (MECOTY) Awards' second edition, which took place at Dubai's Raffles Hotel last week. MECOTY's independent jury panel, comprising 12 of the region's auto journalists and editors, whittled down the submissions to a single winner based on a number of scoring parameters. These include Design & Quality; Handling and Drivability; Safety & Durability; Performance & Capability; Technological Innovation; Emotional Appeal & Driver Satisfaction; Value for Money; Comfort & Practicality; Environmental Friendly; and Regional Appeal. All nominated vehicles were test driven by the jurors to ensure precise and accurate scoring. "We are so proud to have won the top honor in the ‘Best Truck' category," said Mohsen Kassem, GMC Middle East Marketing and Sales Manager. "This is particularly meaningful considering that MECOTY's independent jury panel is composed of some of the region's motoring journalists. The 2015 GMC Sierra has all the makings of a winning vehicle!" The GMC Sierra lineup offers a wide range of capabilities to GMC customers. Whether purchased for its serious trailering and carrying capacity or it's ability to tackle any kind of terrain, or simply as a lifestyle vehicle the GMC Sierra has proved time and again that it's the region's favorite Full Size Pickup truck, and the MECOTY award is another valuable trophy to add to its roster.
