BCG widens global footprint with Riyadh office opening
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 29 - 10 - 2015

AS part of its commitment to promoting the development and diversification of the Saudi economy, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), has announced the formal opening of its Riyadh office – which brings the management consulting firm's number of global offices to 82.
BCG, the world's leading advisor on business strategy, has, in recent years, provided specialized consulting services to Saudi-based clients in all sectors, to identify their highest-opportunities, address their most critical challenges, and transform their business.
In addition to working with clients in Saudi Arabia, BCG realizes the importance of making a difference within the Kingdom in hopes of leaving a mark on the local community. BCG participates in social impact programs such as fostering youth entrepreneurship to support the Kingdom in thriving socially and economically.
"Saudi Arabia is currently in the midst of a major socio-economic transformation, driven by a rising non-oil growth rate, the emergence of knowledge industries, and the opening of new markets," said Dr. Hans-Paul Bürkner, Chairman of the BCG Group.
"BCG's 82nd office opening in Riyadh further solidifies our overriding vision, which is to fully partake in and help accelerate Saudi Arabia's economic transition."
Dr. Bürkner added "at BCG, our role is to support the Kingdom's diversification agenda. We will also be doing our part to contribute to creating a strong, dynamic local talent base comprising of men and women.
This is done by pushing our specialized local employment initiatives to hire talent from the Kingdom after which we invest in training and mentoring our local staff."
The opening of the Riyadh office has solidified BCG's commitment to Saudi Arabia. To inaugurate this milestone for BCG, the official opening ceremony took place on October 26th at the BCG Riyadh office, located in the Olaya Towers.
The ceremony was opened by BCG Group Chairman Dr. Hans-Paul Bürkner and BCG Middle East Managing Partner Joerg Hildebrandt. BCG was proud to welcome His Excellency Abdullatif Al-Othman, Governor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SAGIA as the guest of honor for this occasion.
Governor Al Othman said "I am very pleased to welcome The Boston Consulting Group to Saudi Arabia. Already, BCG has worked with both the Saudi public and privates sectors on over 200 projects.
But the establishment of BCG's office in Riyadh is a very positive development in the relationship, particularly as the Kingdom continues to diversify its economy. Not only will our talented men and women have the opportunity to work for a company known worldwide for being a top employer; but those individuals - and Saudi Arabia - will benefit from the culture of excellence BCG takes with it, everywhere it goes.
Joerg Hildebrandt, Managing Partner of BCG Middle East, said: "Over the last decade, our work with private and public sector clients in Saudi Arabia has equipped us with a thorough understanding of market trends and the overall socio-economic environment in the Kingdom.
We have also witnessed first-hand the nation's ability to evolve in the face of ongoing change. Today, BCG is deeply involved in the Kingdom, having committed over 200 consultants to work directly with clients in Saudi Arabia. Looking ahead, as we further cement our presence in Saudi Arabia, our aim is to continue to drive market transformation and offer our clients the full range of capabilities needed to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. We want to help organizations in the country navigate the winds of economic change and excel in their respective fields."
