Published in The Saudi Gazette on 26 - 10 - 2015

FADI Ghosn, one of the top executives in the automotive industry in the Middle East, has joined Japanese automaker Nissan.
Ghosn, who possesses a wealth of experience in the industry, has been appointed marketing director/chief marketing officer for Nissan Middle East. He will report directly to Samir Cherfan, the company's regional managing director.
"Marketing has played a key role in supporting Nissan Middle East's business expansion and within the continued growth of our brand in the region. Our exceptional product line-up is responsible for our success and we are firm believers in glorifying our models through impactful and effective marketing strategies. With his extensive industry experience we know that Fadi will play a pivotal role in this capacity," Cherfan said.
Nissan Middle East has experienced significant growth in recent years, culminating in its strong FY2014 financial results, which saw it announce record breaking annual sales of 219,129 units across the region, up 3.3% on 2013. In addition, Nissan Middle East has also initiated important changes such as the rejuvenation of its operations in Saudi Arabia as well as the expansion of its regional market focus to include Turkey.
"Fadi will be in charge of leading all of Nissan's regional marketing activities alongside being responsible for our product and pricing the Middle East. His years' of experience at the forefront of the automotive industry make him a highly-valued acquisition for Nissan," Cherfan remarked.
Speaking about his appointment, Ghosn said: "This is a particularly exciting time to be part of Nissan and support its exceptional model line-up, which includes the recent additions of the all new Nissan Maxima 2016 and the NISMO range. I'm delighted to be joining a team of achievers and helping to drive Nissan's continued success in the region." Ghosn, who holds a bachelor of business administration from Ecole Des Hautes Etudes Commerciales in Montreal, boasts more than 24 years' experience in sales and marketing.
He joins Nissan from Ford where he held the position of director of marketing, sales and service for the Middle East and Africa. He previously held senior positions with General Motors in the Middle East and Detroit including that of sales director of GM's Middle East Operations and the US automaker's regional CMO and Cadillac global brand development in Detroit.
