17th ABIC aimed at spurring investment
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 11 - 10 - 2015

THE 17th Arab Investors and Businessmen Conference (ABIC), which will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, will discuss ways to activate innovative thinking in the Arab investment field, with the aim of taking it to global fronts.
The current edition of the conference will showcase new ideas to help Arab investors and companies, operating in various sectors of the economy, to engage in global competition and enhance their contributions.
Organizers of ABIC, to be held under the theme ‘Investing in Entrepreneurship and Innovation', confirmed that diverse opinions will be discussed on Nov. 16-17 that will help public and private institutions' transformation to global scale.
"ABIC's theme of ‘Investing in Entrepreneurship and Innovation' fits perfectly with the UAE shift towards innovation as well as the UAE Government strategy of named 2015 as the ‘Year of Innovation'. The plan is aimed at making the UAE the most innovative nation in the world within seven years. The plan will be carried out in 4 phases with the first stage consisting of 30 national initiatives to be completed within three years.
The initiatives will cover new legislation, innovation incubators, investment in specialised skills, private-sector incentives, international research partnerships, and an innovation drive within government," said Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of the 17th Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference.
ABIC organizing committee has confirmed presence of prominent investment personalities setting an agenda that includes topics like challenges facing the Arab economy sector. It also focuses on providing innovative and creative solutions to add value to the event as a platform to exchange views, proposals and ideas. ABIC is a key Arab investment and economic gathering aiming to encourage investment and innovation across the Arab region," Al Mansoori.
"We will not only discuss the challenges, but also reveal a number of creative solutions to facilitate companies' expansion into the global economy. The conference will be open to different types of businesses from all sectors," he added.
The 17th Arab Investors and Businessmen Conference helps create secure investment solutions for investors, including general or customized solutions for different markets according to their needs and their ability to benefit from foreign investments.
