The Council of Minister, presided over by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, Monday, approved amending a number of supply policy rules which were first issued by the Cabinet in 1396H. This decision was taken upon the recommendation of the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Control and Investigation Board as well as the recommendation of the Permanent Committee of the Supreme Economic Council. The Cabinet also reviewed the events in the Arab arena particularly in Yemen and congratulated the people of Yemen for national conciliation according to the Gulf initiative agreement signed in Riyadh. The Cabinet prayed for Yemen's stability and security. In a statement following the session, Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, expressed the Cabinet's hope that the meeting of the Arab Foreign Ministers and the ministerial committee concerned with Syria will stop the bloodletting in Syria and restore security and stability. The Cabinet welcomed the agreement of the GCC nations to establish Gulf police and create a permanent security committee of GCC interior ministries concerned with the protection of vital industrial installations. It stressed that the GCC is one entity and any threat to one of its countries is a threat to the security of all GCC nations. The Cabinet also reconsidered the compensation granted to armed forces officers and privates and military students for work related death, injury or disability. The compensation will be SR500,000 if these are related to combat.
