The Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) participated in the third Fiber Home Conference - Middle East and North Africa in Egypt this month, the company said in a statement sent Thursday. The conference was held at the Hyatt Regency in Sharm El-Sheikh with the theme “Leading the New Generation' The event was under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed Salem, Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology and attended by key telecommunications specialists from the Middle East and North Africa. STC delivered a paper titled “Evolving Broadband Through FTTH” presented by Eng. Nasser Al-Sadoun, General Manager Marketing at the Home Sector. The paper highlighted the latest FTTH applications and integrated fiber optics services that STC provides to its customers. It focused on four key topics: FTTH Technology in the Kingdom, Increasing demand for Broadband Services, Benefits and Advantages of FTTH; Fiber Optics Corporate Strategy. STC offers a series of home broadband packages for the first time in the Kingdom and across the region, including voice services for free and high speed internet reaching 20 mb/sec with one-bill and a fixed monthly subscription fee. In 2011, STC was the first to launch X Band Jood Premium, which provides four services — telephone, internet, Invision (interactive television) and Quick Net — (2GB) from one source with a fixed monthly fee. This enables all family members to use various internet services at the same time, group games and other applications with high efficiency. It also enables the family to view best TV channels through invision or interactive television.
