Dow Water & Process Solutions (DW&PS), a business unit of Dow Chemical Company and a leading supplier of innovative products for filtration, purification and separation processes that make water safer, cleaner and more available, showcased its water solutions expertise at the three-day Saudi Water and Power Forum in Jeddah which concluded Tuesday. DW&PS recently announced plans to invest in a best-in-class manufacturing facility for DOW FILMTEC Reverse Osmosis (RO) elements in the Kingdom. The proposed facility would deliver cutting-edge technologies for water desalination and water re-use for potable, non-potable and industrial water serving Saudi Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa region and emerging markets worldwide. Additionally, these water membrane technologies will deliver cost-savings through reduced energy usage and superior operational efficiencies for customers in desalination, industrial, municipal, commercial and residential sectors. “We are also looking forward to highlighting our planned RO investment in the Kingdom. In addition to being Dow's first RO membrane manufacturing facility outside of the United States, our investment also represents the first ever such facility in the entire Middle East and Africa region,” said Dr. Ilham Kadri, commercial director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Dow Water & Process Solutions. Dow showed off its advanced technologies for purification and separation processes, including a new, innovative Ultrafiltration (UF) module that lowers skid and Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) engineering costs. The innovative module also takes less effort to assemble than a traditional skid. The new UF module enjoys a streamlined and compact design that eliminates welding, pipe-cutting and more, essentially helping to lower the total cost of ownership across the design, installation and operation stages.
