No. 4 Syracuse remained unbeaten with a 72-68 win over No. 10 Florida Friday, and coach Jim Boeheim apologized again after the game. “I believe I misspoke very badly in my response to the allegations that have been made,” he said. “I shouldn't have questioned what the accusers expressed or their motives. I am really sorry that I did that, and I regret any harm that I caused.” It was the second game since the firing of the longtime associate head coach Bernie Fine, who has been accused by three men — including two former Syracuse ball boys — of molesting them as minors. Fine has denied the allegations. Boeheim initially defended Fine vigorously, saying money might have been the main motivation of accusers. Just as in Tuesday's home win over Eastern Michigan, Boeheim was greeted by an ovation when he was introduced to a crowd of 24,459. No. 13 Missouri rout Northwestern St 90-56: Northwestern State coach Mike McConathy knew his team was in for a challenge against No. 13 Missouri. Often employing waves of substitutions by switching out the entire team during timeouts, the Demons tried to wear down the Tigers. But Northwestern State wasn't able to keep pace with Missouri's four-guard lineup, falling behind early and losing 90-56. “It is what it is,” McConathy said. “We're a team coming in here trying to find ourself, develop ourself. We've got some young guys with a couple of older guys and we just got to build on it and learn to hustle harder and play harder than the team that we're playing. So we've got to learn that from it. If we do that, hopefully we'll be able to be competitive in our league.” James Hulbin led the Demons (4-4) with 14 points. Demetrice Jacobs and Louis Ellis added 10 apiece, while William Mosley had eight points, 14 rebounds and three blocks. No. 20 Vanderbilt falls to No. 6 Louisville: John Jenkins twice gave Vanderbilt leads late. The 20th-ranked Commodores found a way to lose them both. Jenkins scored 27 points, but Peyton Siva drove through the middle of Vanderbilt's defense for a layup with 1.4 seconds left to rally No. 6 Louisville over the Commodores 62-60 in overtime.
