Prominent UAE singer Ahlam, has expressed her joy and honor at being one of the judges on the program Arab Idol and is excited about the nearing of its launch on the Arab satellite television channel MBC. Ahlam revealed that she will be the Arab version of American judge on American Idol Simon Cowell, who is known to be very strict and firm with participants. Ahlam said she will be the judge making the harsh critique on the performances of participants on the show that is scheduled to be aired on December 9. According to the internet website MBC.net, Ahlam is the only female judge on the committee that features prominent Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama and prominent composer Hassan Al Shafi'ee. Ahlam commented on a recent poll held on the social network Facebook that said Ragheb is the one who is expected to be the Arab version of Simon saying that people should wait and watch the program before making any assumptions. She stressed that she will not be the person that gives people a break and let mistakes pass.
