The National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) has said that accusations against the five girls of Bara'em Al-Watan School for the fire incident cannot be taken into legal consideration. “The accusations have not been proved legally yet. If the case is referred to the court, we will intervene to know how the investigations were conducted and how the verdicts will be carried out. They are juveniles and the procedures for the trial of juveniles must be implemented,” said Dr. Hussein Al-Shareef, Director of NSHR for Makkah region. He said the rights body was ready to hire lawyers to defend the five girls.Al-Shareef emphasized that NSHR would follow up the circumstances in which the five female students are being investigated and to check if there were guarantees to protect their rights. The society does not want to issue premature statements, he said, especially since what is being conducted now are preliminary procedures. No investigations by the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution (BIP) have started yet. He said accusations made by the Civil Defense cannot be taken into legal consideration unless they are found to be true by the BIP. __
