George Clooney is adding another award to his collection. The Palm Springs International Film Festival will present the 50-year-old actor with its Chairman's Award in January. Festival chairman Harold Matzner said Friday that Clooney is “a consummate actor, director, producer and screenwriter (who has) demonstrated that no discipline within the film industry is beyond his reach.” He said Clooney is being honored for his performance in “The Descendants,” in theaters Friday, and for writing, producing, directing and starring in “The Ides of March,” which opened last month.
