Two buildings were demolished Tuesday to clear the way for the construction of the new Briman Bridge. A total of 58 residential buildings and villas are expected to be removed. Compensation has been paid to the owners of 28 properties. Other property owners will be compensated after they complete the necessary procedures. The new bridge is expected to ease traffic flow from the east to the west of Jeddah. The current bridge is often congested with long convoys of trucks, trailer trucks and small vehicles. Meanwhile, a committee is currently estimating the value of 800 plots of land that will have to make way for the Haramain Train. The committee has already completed valuations of about 2,000 properties. Seven bridges will be constructed on Al-Haramain Road for the Haramain Train. These include King Abdullah, Prince Muhammad Bin Abdul Aziz (Tahlia), Briman, and Al-Nuzha-Airport bridges. Work is underway on the Airbase and Air Defense bridges. Al-Hujjaj Bridge, which is considered an architectural marvel, has been completed. The Haramain Train line covers 450 kilometers from Makkah to Madina. __
