More than 500,000 government-owned vehicles are not insured because officials are failing in their duty to get insurance cover. A source, quoting a report, said this violates Article 18 of the Eighth Section of the State's Vehicles System, which makes it mandatory for government bodies to insure their cars. The Traffic Administration cannot issue driving and car licenses without valid insurance. The report, said the source, showed that more than 500,000 vehicles were not insured including ambulances, police, traffic police and other government cars. A source at an insurance company said government bodies issued a public tender for car insurance two years ago. __
